Game Design - Worldbuilding - Systems & AI - Project Management

Clear systems, creative worlds and enough chaos to keep things interesting

I am Anthony John Haleck, 26, and currently live in Leipzig. I am finishing my Bachelor of Arts in Game Design and Development. I have been playing Counter-Strike for more than 10 years, have over 5,000 hours and I love the grind!

I love developing, designing, improving and actually building games. The idea of creating a world where other people can switch off, feel comfortable and have fun is a big part of what drives me. At the same time, games are also a way for me to express myself creatively.

I like clear and honest communication - but outside of work, I do not always take myself too seriously.

My profile

From an idea in my head to something I can actually build

I am especially interested in games and projects that pull me in through their mechanics, atmosphere or worlds. Metroidvanias, FPS games, roguelikes and soulslikes are some of my favorites. When it comes to stories and settings, I am drawn to adventure, action, platforming and unusual worlds. Other genres can grab me just as much - what matters is whether an idea makes me curious enough to dig deeper.

In team projects, I like taking care of the structure: turning ideas into something concrete, defining goals and requirements, prioritizing tasks and bringing the pieces together. The more a project excites me, the deeper I tend to go into its mechanics, systems and details.

I build technical prototypes and agent systems with AI assistance. My focus is on systems design, prototyping, integration, testing, debugging and validation.

How I work

How I approach projects

From the first idea to a result that can be tested and presented.

01

Concept

I develop ideas, worlds, mechanics and systems around a clear goal and an experience that makes sense for the player.

02

Structure

Requirements, responsibilities, dependencies and similar details are documented in Miro and Notion through GDDs and other project documents.

03

Integration

Individual contributions and systems are integrated step by step and tested together.

04

Iteration

Tests and feedback are used to find problems, adjust designs step by step and, depending on the project, expand the content.

Tools and skills

Creative and technical toolbox

A selection of tools I have used across different projects to turn ideas into something real.

Game Development

Unity, C# fundamentals, Visual Studio Code, Visual Studio, Hammer Editor, technical prototypes, GDDs and other project documentation.

Game Design

Sketches, paper prototypes, creative methods, character development, writing exercises and iterative concept work.

Systems & AI

AI-assisted Python and C# prototyping, agent architecture and development, testing, debugging and validation.

Personality or something

The portfolio is also meant to show what kind of person I am and who you would actually be working with.

I communicate directly, take responsibility and stay calm even when problems get complicated. At the same time, I like having fun, value my quiet time and care a lot about a good team vibe.
